Citizens Caring for Children

For more than 30 years, Citizens Caring for Children (CCC) has provided for children living in foster care by meeting their material, emotional, and intellectual needs.

When children are removed from their homes due to serious abuse or neglect, they often leave all of their personal belongings behind. For many foster families, Citizens Caring for Children’s Resource Center is often their first stop, providing them with clothing and the other essential and basic necessities. The Resource Center provides children in foster care with NEW clothing four times per year and a duffle bag filled with toiletries and other items. CCC would like to expand this service while also filling a rapidly growing need through a new Mobile Resource Center (MRC) that would serve children living in communities outside of Oklahoma City but within our seven county service area.

The MRC would make at least six stops twice a year providing these children with two tops, two bottoms, a pair of pajamas, a pair of shoes, three pairs of socks, three pairs of underwear, a coat in the winter and a bag of toiletry items. The MRC affords foster parents the convenience of being closer to them and not having to travel to the city to receive our services. With more than 11,000 Oklahoma kids in foster care, our goal for the new MRC is to increase our ability to serve more children in providing hope, changing their lives and creating healthy futures for them.
