“Challenge U – Universal High Ropes Challenge Course”
Central Christian Camp and Make Promises Happen provide unparalleled outdoor recreational opportunities to individuals, including those with special needs and who are medically at-risk. With the help of Impact Oklahoma, individuals will have the chance to expand their abilities by reaching new heights through Challenge U, a universally designed high ropes course.
Imagine a life filled with “you can’t.” A life ruled by others’ perceived limitations. A life labeled by having a physical disability, an intellectual disability, a serious illness, or by being at-risk, a life that excludes you from activities readily available to others. This is the reality that many youth, young adults and adults face each day. Unfortunately, people focus on their disabilities and not their true potential.
With your assistance, campers from Oklahoma City and surrounding areas will transform “you can’t” into “I can.” By funding Challenge U, Impact Oklahoma will allow a young woman who utilizes a wheelchair to cross a cable between platforms 60 feet above ground. Impact Oklahoma will provide an at-risk child the opportunity to gain a new view on life from atop a climbing tower. Impact Oklahoma will enable a young boy battling cancer to ride a zip-line after conquering Challenge U. Oklahomans will gain the opportunity to utilize the universal design of Challenge U to work as a team to conquer fears, increase self-esteem and harness their true potential. Impact Oklahoma will join Central Christian Camp and Make Promises Happen as we continue Changing Lives One Camp at a Time!
