“Challenge U High Elements Program”

Central Christian Camp’s mission is to provide an outdoor oriented, safe haven where all people may come to retreat, reflect, have fun and gain knowledge and skills, which will nurture their lives, their love of God and one another. This mission is realized through its Make Promises Happen program, which provides outdoor recreational opportunities to individuals ages six and older with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Central Christian Camp aims to build Challenge U High Elements Program area, enabling every individual the opportunity to be successful, regardless of physical or intellectual ability. Challenge U will be Oklahoma’s only universally designed challenge course. Challenge U combines an existing low ropes course with a high ropes course. Towering more than 80 feet into the air, with dynamic climbing walls and speed racing zip lines, Challenge U will encourage groups to grow closer, build trust and work together. Challenge U is “adventure for all.”

In addition to the over 550 campers with special needs, Challenge U will be available to more than 2,500 Oklahoma community partners including: American Cancer Society, Diabetes Solutions, OKC/Edmond YMCA, Cavett Kids Foundation, Brain Injury Association, Epilepsy Association, Prader Willi Syndrome Association, New Hope Inc., Foundation for the Disabled, OU Medical Center, Arthritis Foundation, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Kramer School of Nursing and Boy and Girl Scouts of America.

Challenge U encourages growth for people with and without disabilities alike, demonstrating that regardless of one’s personal ability; together a team can accomplish anything.
